ISIS
Simonetta Amoroso
Introduction:
An Islamic extremist group, also known as ISIS, was formed in 1999 but was not commonly known until their major 2013 insurgency. This conflict is important for the global community to address because a lot of people are being affected. There is concern about the possible reduction of servicemen in Russia’s 201st base. Twenty seven people were left dead after a deadly attack and instability on September 15, 2015. The attack was mostly targeted upon police units near Dushanbe. Tajiks fear that Islamic state militants could enter the country from the neighboring Afghanistan. They believe that the country could possibly fall apart.
National Actions:
ISIS has caused many problems in the Middle East, one of which has caused Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, to lose most of their police units. ISIS has seized hundreds of million of dollars in bank deposits from cities and towns in the United States. Ten million going into black market oil sales. This action of terrorism can not be electronically surveillance. The government has taken action to this terrorism. “Terror financing” is one of the best ways to fight terrorism. Terrorist and terrorist operations simply cannot operate without financing. Intelligent agencies and law enforcements constantly monitor suspected or known terror facilitators or finance networks. Exposing terror cells and thwart major plots.
UN Actions and International Actions :
Eighteen universal instruments against international terrorism have been established by the United Nations relating to specific terrorist activities. Member states throughout the general assembly have been increasing their counter-terrorism efforts. The policies the UN have established are the eighteen universal instruments, fourteen instruments and four amendments. These instruments work as an anti-terrorism framework of the United Nations system relating specifically to terrorist activities.
Recommendations for Action:
For a resolution, Tajikistan could try to talk to the other countries that are also being affected by ISIS and join forces to fight ISIS. The UN can help address this issue by gathering multiple forces from different countries and to train them so they can have the top of the line training as well as being more informed on the Islamic extremist group.
